What a whirlwind of a week!!  Three new litters born and some beautiful healthy babies which we are so thankful for.  I didn’t get hardly any sleep, so tonight I am going to get my PJ’s on early and CRASH!  This will be the first really good night’s sleep I’ve had all week (I hope! LOL)

All of our moms did fantastic and they are so proud of their new babies.  Always so fun to watch as their maternal instincts kick in so strongly.  Watching the babies being born never ceases to amaze me with the miracle of birth.  Only 63 days ago, a mere cell and now these gorgeous little creatures all wiggling and wanting to find their mama milk….just incredible.

We are expecting a couple of other litters in a few weeks and that will conclude our Spring litters.  Then the fun will begin as we watch them grow and change into the cute little furballs everyone is waiting for.

It is beautiful here in Texas right now.  I saw my first bluebonnets this week and in just another couple of weeks we will be a blanket of “blue”….so incredibly gorgeous….even the artists cannot quite capture how amazing it is to see fields with carpets of blue. I just LOVE the Spring! ….can you tell?!  The bees are buzzing, butterflies are appearing from no where, the blue birds, red birds, and every other color of bird are nesting and preparing for new births….so cool.  Our trees are budding out, the squirrels are frisky and life is abounding all around….and from life springs hope eternal……hope you are enjoying the Spring too!  I liken it to a  newborn baby…..so amazing and perfect and sweet but in a couple of weeks they are so much bigger and you wonder, “where did the time go?”…..so it is with Spring.  I want to capture every tiny moment because very soon the world will be green again and starving for water, but that special beautiful softness of Spring will have subsided.  Savor every moment….

Speaking of new birth….we are anxiously awaiting three new litters before the 1st of April so we are gearing up to be SOOO busy!  LOL  We are so excited about these litters and hoping for a wide array of color….so appropriate for Spring.  🙂

Moms are getting bigger and fatter and I’m trying to catch up on some sleep…(wishful thinking) as I know that I won’t be getting much sleep for the rest of the month.  Our bedroom is once again a dog nursery and I’m awake at every sound.  I’ll be SO glad when the pups are here….this time before the births always makes me anxious for my moms.  All are doing extremely well, though they have slowed down considerably and are beginning to “nest” in their whelping boxes.

I will be posting news of the new births as soon as they are here.  Hope you are enjoying this wonderful time of year….

I know lots of you have heard that poem….and for we humans, that is true  🙂
However, little boy poms are awesome!
I wrote this awhile back when so many people were asking about the difference between boys and girls, so I thought I might post it again…since we have so many little boys available right now!  🙂

There are definitely pros & cons to owning a female or male pomeranian puppy, so it is always an individual decision.  However, here are some thoughts…..

The biggest complaint I often hear about boys is that they like to “mark” and have a hard time potty training. If properly nuetered at the right time, this tendency is greatly improved and they can be trained just as well as the females. There are actually great advantages to owning a male….they tend to be less moody, usually much more affectionate, and the biggest advantage of all is that they do not “blow” their coats as often as the females.  Of course the males, (just like every other species, except for humans, of course…”grin”) are usually the prettiest and have the nicest coats.  They will still shed some, and lose some of their coat once a year or so, but not nearly as much as the females do.  All in all, they make extraordinary pets and incredibly loyal companions, and my boys stay happy all the time! (Just love ’em and feed ’em and they are happy! mmm, sounds familiar doesn’t it?!)
Now for the girls….the biggest complaint about girls is losing their coat once or twice a year and dealing with their cyles….however, this can be greatly improved by spaying as it is related to hormonal cycles. They also tend to be a little “bossy” and “independent”, and somewhat “moody”  in my experience (wow…I’m realizing we girls are the same everywhere! “grin”)….however…….having said all that, there is just something about the girls, well, we’re just irresistible, don’t you think?!
Bottom line is that both genders come with their own particulars, but truthfully pomeranians have personalities that completely steal your heart….each one is individual and unique, and you wouldn’t trade them for anything in the world. (And it is truly hard to own just one! “grin”)

I have been thinking alot about “love” lately… (hmmmm, I wonder why? maybe because it is plastered everywhere we look right now?? LOL)
So what is love? Is it a warm, fuzzy feeling? Is it a desire in our hearts? Is it physical?? Is it chemistry or emotion? Do we keep it or give it away??
There is so much marketing and media based on “love”, but what is it really?
It is one of those things in life that we cannot live without, but defining it is difficult.
One thing we know….it is only expressed in “relationship” to someone or some thing….without an object of our love it cannot exist.
It is much like the wind….we cannot see it, but we can see the effects of it as it touches what is in its path. We see the embodiment of love as it is unleashed in acts of kindness, generosity and giving sacrificially. It is something that seems to only grow stronger if we set it free and give it away. It cannot be bought…it cannot be sold. It often causes us great pain, but binds us with bonds stronger than death. What an amazing thing it is…
May you all experience gifting one of life’s greatest and deepest treasures to someone very important to you this week and watch love grow! 🙂
(I know…I am a hopeless romantic, but I just can’t help myself! LOL)
