A Month for Love

February 6, 2012
Wow,
I can hardly believe January is already gone and I forgot to say hello!
This is a crazy winter in Texas…I didn’t mow a single time last summer because the drought was so severe the grass could not even grow. And now…I’m mowing in February! crazy….

It has been a busy season and many of our pups are leaving us this week and next…such a beautiful bunch. Always bittersweet to see them go, but wow, what a great bunch of people I have met to give them new homes. We are so blessed.

We are down to the last few of our mid Winter babies and they are at such a cute stage. They are running and chewing and tackling each other and “strutting their stuff” to see who is top dog. Very entertaining….I get nothing done! :)

Pomeranians fill your heart with so much love….they truly are irresistible! Never have I known such a sensitive and truly loving breed. If you have never owned a pomeranian you have to have one to know what I’m talking about and for those of you who do have one….well, you know…..

BB delivered a gorgeous litter last week which I will be posting soon.
Five Girls!!!!! We were really down on the girls this past year, so she is making up for the deficit! All just beautiful…..three dark creams/light chocolate, one black, and one orange sable. All were 4 to 4 1/2 oz. at birth and she delivered all of them in just an hour and a half…..she amazes me. They are doing great and I hope to get pictures up soon.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2012!

Jan. 10, 2012
Happy New Year! I hope things are getting back to normal for everyone. I hope 2012 holds great things for you all and I hope you are looking forward to a new start as much as I am.

2011 was an incredible year for Dee Dees Poms and we have placed so many precious babies in the most fantastic homes. You guys are awesome!

I just feel the need to say thank you to all of you who have made this past year so fun. I absolutely LOVE hearing from all of you and I have enjoyed so many photos and stories and I just love to know that these precious bundles of fur are continuing to be loved on by such great people.

I wish there was a way to share all of the great Christmas cards I received with photos of all the poms! (and of course the family too, but we know whose the cutest, right?! LOL) They are all just adorable. And I just got a Happy New Year card this week that was adorable too with two happy little poms in the photo…precious! :)
One of these days I am going to make a calendar with all the cute photos….wouldn’t that be great?

On another note….Priscilla, my beautiful little orange girl, kept me up all night last night…ugh! But it was worth it, because she has given birth to three adorable little babies and all are healthy and doing great. Mom is a little tired(not as tired as me I bet!), but to be expected. She was a couple of days past her due date and she had a bit of a time with one of them, but they are all doing just great now.

I will be sending out an update/birth announcement by the end of the week with some photos and more information. I do have deposits on the litter, so not sure which ones will be available yet.
If you are not on my updates/notification list, just let me know and I will add you.

Happy 2012! :)

I LOVE THIS SEASON FOR SO MANY REASONS

December 20, 2011

I love this season of the year for so many reasons. There seems to be an upspoken desire in the hearts of so many people to be thinking “out of themselves” and actually looking to meet the needs or wants of other people. Wouldn’t it be something if we lived like that all of the time!?

I love the festivities and the lights and the beauty that comes with all the decorating. I love the anticipation of the kids and the wonder of the many stories told. I love the food….did I say I love the food?! :)
I love that we get to be with family….whether that means blood kin, special friends, or maybe just our furry friends….Christmas is a time to share life and make memories.

Mostly I love the reason we celebrate, and the hope and love and redemption that the story of Christmas is all about. There are so many lonely hearts at this time of year, and my prayer is that we would all take the loneliness or the hurts or the sadness that sometimes overtakes us this time of year and squeeze it out like a sponge as we see through new eyes and search for those around us to see who needs a hug, or reassurance or a kind word or a meal or…...whatever the opportunity might be. I have always found that to refill the love in my heart I just have to look outside of my own heart and finds opportunities to distribute love elswhere…..funny how that works.

I hope your Christmas is filled with opportunities to love….

SOME PACKAGES CAN'T WAIT!

December 7, 2011
Much to our surprise, our beautiful merle girl, “Zoey”, gave birth several days early to an amazing and very colorful litter of gorgeous babies yesterday. She wasn’t actually due until next week, but she was about to explode and we knew she probably wouldn’t make her due date. She had a perfect delivery and graced us with six…..yes, six! new babies. This is twice her normal size litter and she did it as though it happened every day. She is one busy little mama and they are all healthy and thriving and she is SO proud!
She had two ice white boys, and one ice white girl, a cream sable girl and an orange sable girl, and a darling little blue merle boy. I will have pictures posted by the weekend, once they have had a chance to “settle in” and are nursing well. These babies will be ready for new homes around the first of February.

ITS THAT WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR

Dec. 2, 2011
Wow….I can’t believe December is already here. Thanksgiving is just barely over and we are suddenly bombarded with EVERYTHING Christmas! This year I actually saw Christmas things in the stores before Thanksgiving! :)
And believe it or not….I saw Easter Egg Candy out in a store this week! Unbelievable!

All that aside, I still love the “hustle” and “bustle” of the holidays and the hope and the joy and the peace that is the true reason for the season.

We are expecting to get a cold front here in Texas next week and we may get to have our first real fire in the fireplace. That is always a special treat and we usually have our first “Tortilla Soup” of the season to kick it off….I know, we are a little weird here in Texas to get that excited about a little cold weather, but hey, this year has been one, if not THE hottest year on record as well as the third worst drought in our history…..so we have good cause to celebrate some rain and cold weather!

We have the most adorable litter of pups right now with such a variety of colors. These little guys (literally guys….I only have boys left in the litter!)....will be ready for their new forever home around the 10th of December. These boys, as well as my two older babies, Chewy and Karina(my only female currently available), are the only ones I will have available in time for Christmas.
I do have some litters coming this month, but these new babies won’t be ready until late January to February.

There is nothing better than getting an adorable little live creature, full of spunk and vigor and ready for play and love…..especially for Christmas. It is a gift that continues on giving for a very long time. I have so many people write to tell me how much they love this breed…..I know! That is why I do what I do! :)
They are just so precious and so intent on loving their family…
You just can’t imagine until you have one….

I hope everyone is a lot more organized than me as Christmas approaches….In my mind and heart I am the most organized person on the planet, but it never seems to work itself out in reality! .....but I keep on trying! :)

If you would like to be notified when the newest, upcoming litters arrive, be sure to email me and let me know that you would like to be on my “updates” list….

Enjoy the season and find someone to love…..I know from experience that it is a difficult season for many….what a great time to give of our time and talents.

LAST TWO FROM FALL LITTERS

November 21, 2011
We only have two little pups still available from our Fall litters.
We still have “Chewy” who is approaching 12 weeks old, and unfortunately starting into his “uglies”, but still just as happy and fun as they come. He is such a great little boy and will make the most fabulous pet. His coat will be gorgeous in another few months and his markings are very interesting and unique.
Our beautiful girl, “Karina” is also still available and she is a beautiful black girl with just a tiny little diamond of white on her chest. I desperately need to update her pictures which I hope to do very soon. She is getting cuter by the day and she is a very sweet, mellow little girl, who just loves people.
Let me know if you have any interest in these last two cuties….they are all ready for their new forever homes.

Nessie & Jack had their litter on October 15th and she had a HUGE litter! She had six beautiful little babies and they are all doing so well. She had one blue merle female, one blue merle parti female, one black boy, two white boys, and one chocolate merle boy….what a crew! Can’t wait to get pictures up which I hope to do right after Thanksgiving. These guys will be ready to go home on or around December 10th. One of the merle girls is already spoken for, but the rest are currently available. I will be sending out updates on them as well.

We also have two, maybe three litters due in December, depending on whether the breedings took. We should have some adorable babies from these breedings, but they will not be ready until after the New Year.

OUT OF THE ASHES

October 26, 2011
I have never really quite understood that expression until now. With the forests burned all around us it has been stark and colorless for the last few weeks….completely lifeless actually. A very fierce contrast to the thick, lush green that has always been. However,
God’s creations cannot be stilled….already there are wild tulips and beautiful little wildflowers emerging up out of the ashes…incredible sight to see. The birds and butterflies are beginning to return (maybe just looking for their old stomping grounds!) and life is slowly detectable again amidst the fallen trees and the layers of ash.
A reminder to me that life never stands still. There is always something beautiful to see with a little patience and a watchful eye.
The spirit of our little pups reflects this strong sense of survival. These current litters have been so flexible! They survived the fire with us, they have made do in different surroundings and now they are all getting ready to leave us….I hate to see them go in some ways….we have been through so much together! :)
But they are all finding wonderful homes, which is always my quest.
They are so irresistible at this age and so soft and sweet.
I am in the process of updating and posting my newest litter which was born while we were staying at my son’s house…..they are all just precious. Hope to have them all posted by the end of the week.
Feel free to call or email anytime in the meantime if you want pics before then.

FALL IS HERE

October 17, 2011
It has been such a different and unusual year…..first the heat, then the drought, and then the fire!
But this week (tomorrow actually) we may have our first taste of Fall!
I know….those of you up east and even northwest think I’m crazy, but I felt a coolness in the air tonight that just gave me chills (no pun intented!) LOL I was so excited to feel that change in air…..it reminds me that seasons pass and I am glad to have this last one beind us.
All of our pups feel it too…...they are suddenly very frisky and so happy too that there is that coolness in the air. They seem to have so much energy and new vigor. Everyone, even the lazy ones, are running and playing. I love to watch them.
Our litle Fall babies are getting irresistibly cute…..so huggable.
They are beginning to know and respond to my voice and they get so excited when I walk by them. They beg to be picked up and of course, since they are irresistible and I am a softee, they get picked up nearly every time.
Some will be going home this next week and some are just getting old enough to be going home. We still have some adorable little guys who will make the sweetest companions.
We have a couple of new litters as well and I am still behind on everything, but I will be posting them soon as well.
Hope you are all enjoying some taste of Fall….it is such a beautiful season…...

HOME SWEET HOME

October 2, 2011
We are home! We are back home and so glad to be getting back to some normalcy. It has been exactly 28 days since we fled the wildfires in Bastrop. Over 1600 homes were destroyed, and although our home was spared, the fire ravaged through our area and so much was destroyed.
We are beginning the process of cleaning up over 1000 trees on just our property lost to the fire and getting fences back up for our pups.
They all seem to be glad to be home as well, even though a faint scent of smoke is still in the air.
We have three litters of the cutest pups ever who are getting big now and will be ready for new homes soon! I am SO behind on updating my site, but I am dedicated to working on that this week. We also have a brand new litter of five very adorable little cuties whom I will also try to post sometime this week. I hope to have new pictures of all of our babies up by the end of the week!
Thanks again to so many of you who have kept up with us and sent us encouraging emails or notes. You will never know how much I appreciate it….it truly kept our spirits up.

AMAZING LOVE

September 15, 2011
So many of you have been asking about our pups, so I just thought I would let everyone know how amazing they are and how awesome so many friends and family have been.
Since we moved in temporarily with one of my sons and his wife and new granddbaby, we really needed to have some help with some of our dogs. We brought them all with us, including three brand new litters of pups.
Before we could even ask for it, we had so many offers to help with our beloved poms and we knew we had to take them up on it. So….about half of our poms have been placed temporarily with some very special families and we are grateful beyond words for their love and care.
It was a bit rough at first, as we were all disoriented a bit by the displacement and several of my poms were a little scared and confused. But after a week, all reports are coming in that they have “settled” in to new routines and are all being spoiled beyond belief. Nothing has made me feel better than knowing they are all doing so well.
All of the new moms and babies are here with me and we are all getting used to new routines too.
We have all settled in, including Dani, who is due to deliver this upcoming week.
We are supposed to have electricity back at our house by the 7th of October, so we will be displaced for another few weeks.
Every day is a new experience but we are embracing it with gusto!
We are so grateful for all the love and support….
